UN Warnings of Worsening Humanitarian Conditions in Sudan During Rainy Season

Follow-ups – Mashawir

The organization Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) has warned of the dangers posed by the upcoming rainy season in Sudan amid the ongoing war.

It indicated that “the autumn season threatens to further worsen the already catastrophic humanitarian situation.”

The organization explained that heavy rainfall is expected to cut off supply routes, flood large areas, and isolate thousands of people from humanitarian aid.

It added: “The rainy season arrives at a critical time, coinciding with the peak of the hunger season and a sharp rise in cases of malnutrition and malaria.”
