Hunger Ravages Displaced Persons in “Abu Shouk” Camp in El Fasher

Follow-ups – Mashawir

The Emergency Room of Abu Shouk Camp in El Fasher reported that ongoing artillery shelling has severely worsened the security and humanitarian situation over the past four days.

It stated that a “triangle of shelling, hunger, and disease” is now devastating the population due to the lack of food, water, and medicine, as well as the collapse of the camp’s health center.

The Emergency Room explained that civilians have been forced to survive on just water and flour after the shutdown of charitable kitchens following the suspension of aid and donations. Currently, only one kitchen—recently reopened with support from the organization MOVS—remains operational, but it cannot meet the needs of the large number of displaced persons in the camp.
