Abdalla Hamdok, head of the Revolutionary Democratic Alliance “Samoond,” issued an urgent call to both General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Commander-in-Chief and President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, and General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti,” leader of the Rapid Support Forces, to hold an immediate and direct meeting to end the war and save the country from destruction and annihilation.
In a statement, Hamdok addressed both parties, saying, “The world has decided to stop the war—take it upon yourselves to end it, so that it may be for us and you, not against us and you.”
He warned that Sudan faces the threat of “destruction and extinction” if the war continues.
The war has now entered its third year, leaving tens of thousands dead and displacing 13 million people, resulting in what the United Nations has described as the largest humanitarian crisis in modern history.
