Power Outages Inflict Heavy Losses on Khartoum Residents

Follow-ups – Mashawir

Residents in Khartoum told Mashawir platform that the ongoing electricity crisis has caused numerous problems in recent weeks.

Water networks have failed due to the lack of power at pumping stations, and several health centers have been forced to suspend operations because they cannot run essential medical equipment without electricity.

In response, residents have resorted to primitive and exhausting methods to access water and lighting.

Markets have also experienced shortages of perishable goods, especially meat and refrigerated medicines. Meanwhile, fuel prices for operating private generators have soared to record levels, amid complaints of price exploitation by some traders.
