The ongoing intense clashes between the two warring parties in the South and West Kordofan states have caused large and continuous waves of displacement from conflict zones to safer areas in the localities of Al-Salam, West Bara, Al-Qoz, and Sheikan.
Displaced persons who arrived in the city of El-Obeid reported that many families were separated and lost some of their members—especially children—during the arduous journey to reach the crossing point between South and North Kordofan.
Survivors mentioned that other groups fleeing from the Al-Dibibat area in South Kordofan were scattered in different directions on their way to Al-Hammadi and neighboring villages.
Those fleeing from the Al-Dibibat area were forced to walk long distances through rough and dangerous terrain to reach the city of El-Obeid in North Kordofan.
