Food and Health Crises Exacerbate Suffering of Al-Dibaybat Residents

Citizens of Al-Dibaybat city in South Kordofan and its surrounding rural areas are enduring one of the harshest tragedies of displacement during this war. Thousands have been forced to travel over 100 kilometers on foot in a grueling and exhausting journey toward El-Obeid city.A humanitarian statement from the “Afaq Watan” platform, affiliated with the area’s youth coalition, reported that those who reached their destination on roads and in markets in El-Obeid are sleeping on the ground with no shelter or food, facing dire health conditions that have turned their lives into a state of perpetual, tragic homelessness.Those stranded in the area are suffering from increasing cases of violations and displacement, at a time when many citizens have failed to secure funds to support displacement efforts.
