Condemnation of Arrest Campaign Targeting Citizens to Force Loyalty to Rapid Support Forces

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched a widespread arrest campaign targeting dozens of citizens in El-Daein, the capital of East Darfur state.A statement by the South Darfur Workers’ Unions condemned the arrests of its affiliated workers in the city, accusing the RSF of persistently attempting to silence voices and humiliate citizens to coerce their loyalty.The statement demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the detained workers, noting that the arrests were based on accusations of allegiance to the army and political parties.For over a year, the RSF has controlled East Darfur, along with three other states (West, Central, and South Darfur), while striving to complete its dominance by capturing El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.
