Halt of Food and Medical Aid Deepens Suffering in El Fasher

Follow-ups – Mashawir

Acting Minister of Health in North Darfur State, Ibrahim Khater, described the humanitarian situation in El Fasher as catastrophic, calling for urgent intervention.

The city is experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis due to a blockade imposed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with intense fighting ongoing around it for over a year.

As a result, the entry of food and medical aid has come to a halt, leading to the depletion of essential supplies and basic goods.

A drone strike carried out by the RSF on the Abu Hamra Agricultural Building in El Fasher killed 13 people, including four children, and injured 42 others, some critically.

The acting minister clarified that the building was being used as a shelter for displaced persons.
