Mashawir – Reports

Local authorities in areas controlled by the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) led by Abdelwahid al-Nur have announced the establishment of a market near the largest gatherings of displaced people in Tawila locality, North Darfur.

According to Abbas Musa Abbas, head of the local authority, the market will help displaced persons and residents access basic necessities.

Over a month ago, Tawila locality received approximately 400,000 displaced people who fled from El Fasher, Zamzam IDP camp, and surrounding villages after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of the camp.

Displaced persons in the area are facing severe shortages of food, drinking water, and shelter materials, while children are suffering from worsening malnutrition.
