Three people were killed and others injured when a grenade exploded during Maghrib prayer at a mosque in Al-Thawra neighborhood, west of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, which is under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
According to witnesses, the explosion caused panic and chaos, and emergency teams rushed to transport the victims to the hospital for treatment.
Some local residents accused RSF members of throwing the grenade at the worshippers and called for protection and security for places of worship.
