Human rights activists have revealed the discovery of a mass grave inside a football field in the Shambat neighborhood of Khartoum Bahri, believed to contain the bodies of dozens of civilians.
In a press statement, the Shambat Resistance Committee explained that the site, which was once a youth sports field, was turned into a mass burial ground by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) after they took control of the area.
Meanwhile, the Khartoum Local Security Committee has tightened entry and exit procedures to and from the capital via national roads and the bridges connecting it to other states.
The committee also held a meeting to discuss the relocation of remains from temporary graves in residential neighborhoods, as part of broader efforts to address the impacts of the war and replan affected residential areas.
