The spokesperson for the General Coordination of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Refugees in Darfur, Adam Regal, has reported a worsening humanitarian situation inside Kalma Camp for displaced persons in South Darfur.
In a Facebook post, Regal revealed a growing spread of malnutrition among children and a significant rise in suffering among pregnant and breastfeeding women in the camp. He appealed to humanitarian organizations and donor agencies to increase their support to meet the escalating needs in the displacement camps.
Local sources reported the killing of two girls and the injury of seven others by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) near the village of Qarni, northwest of El Fasher. The girls had allegedly been accused of smuggling food supplies on the backs of animals.
The village of Qarni, located on the road linking El Fasher with its northern countryside, is considered a key supply point for the city. The RSF has imposed tight restrictions on the area to prevent the movement of goods or transportation into El Fasher.
