The United States has urged Sudanese authorities to remove barriers preventing the delivery of life-saving aid to those in need.
In a post on the platform X, the U.S. Embassy in Sudan expressed its readiness to take action against those obstructing humanitarian assistance.
The embassy reaffirmed its commitment to working with the United Nations and humanitarian partners to ensure that aid reaches those in need in the most effective way possible.
Sudan, the third-largest country in Africa by area, has been witnessing a devastating war since April 2023, sparked by a power struggle between Army Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the country’s de facto ruler since the 2021 coup, and his former deputy, Rapid Support Forces (RSF) leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti).
