Mashawir – Reports

The Deputy Chair of the Leadership Council of the Founding Sudan Alliance (Tassies), and leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM–N), Abdelaziz Al-Hilu, announced the alliance’s intention to dismantle the old Sudanese state and rebuild it on new foundations.

In his first speech following his appointment as Deputy Chair of the Leadership Council, Al-Hilu expressed determination to unify the components of Sudanese society and to destroy and dismantle the old Sudan, along with dismantling the Islamist structures.

He stated that “the alliance will, after the war ends, work to restore peace and security, dismantle the armies of the former regime and the terrorist brigades, and build a new professional army that protects citizens and the country’s borders, adheres to the constitution and supra-constitutional principles. It will also reconstruct the country, redress grievances, build peace among Sudanese people, and achieve peaceful coexistence.”

Two days ago, the Founding Sudan Alliance (Tassies) announced the formation of a 31-member leadership council headed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti,” and appointed Abdelaziz Al-Hilu as his deputy.
