Displaced People from Babanusa Face Catastrophic Conditions in the Open

Follow-ups – Mashawir

Residents reported that thousands of people have fled the city of Babanusa in West Kordofan State following intensified military operations. Many are now sheltering under trees in areas near the city, lacking even the most basic necessities—especially tents and plastic sheeting—as the rainy season begins.

Citizens have urged humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to provide shelter, food, and medicine to prevent the situation from turning into a full-blown catastrophe.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN agency, previously reported that around 3,200 families were displaced from Al-Qantour village in Babanusa locality on June 27, due to ongoing clashes.
