Thousands Displaced from Bara Amid Catastrophic Humanitarian Conditions

Monitoring – Mashawir

The Humanitarian Aid Commissioner in North Kordofan State, Mohamed Ismail, stated that more than 600 families, totaling around 30,000 people, have been displaced from villages north of Bara due to the military situation in the region.

He explained that the city of El-Obeid has received large numbers of displaced people, alongside a rising number of deaths and cholera infections.

Ismail noted that El-Obeid continues to witness a steady influx of displaced persons from Al-Khuwei, the southern areas of the city, and Bara, despite no active military operations currently taking place in those targeted villages.

The worsening humanitarian situation has forced tens of thousands of residents from various parts of North Kordofan to flee toward El-Obeid, the state capital.
