The Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces, known as “Samood,” welcomed recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump during a mini-summit at the White House with several African leaders. In his statement, Trump affirmed his administration’s commitment to facilitating peaceful settlements in Sudan, Libya, and several other African countries.
Samood spokesperson Jaafar Hassan praised the renewed U.S. role in supporting solutions across the continent, saying, “We hope this will strengthen the political path toward peace and democratic transition, in line with the aspirations of the majority of the Sudanese people.”
The National Umma Party also welcomed Trump’s announcement of his intent to seek a peaceful resolution to the Sudanese crisis, calling it a positive step at a time of extreme sensitivity for Sudan.
In a statement, the party expressed its appreciation for any sincere international efforts that contribute to ending the war and restoring the path toward peace and democratic civilian rule.
The party emphasized that any initiative to resolve the crisis must be based on free national will and receive effective international support.
