The Sudan Liberation Movement has appealed to governments and organizations to support the communal kitchens (Takayas) in Al-Fashir, in an effort to save lives and alleviate the suffering of displaced and forcibly uprooted civilians.
Due to ongoing violence, thousands continue to flee from Al-Fashir to escape the horrors of war.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has confirmed that the number of displaced people from the city has now exceeded one million.
North Darfur State remains the most affected region by the conflict, with continued attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on most of its areas, including villages that show no signs of military presence.
