The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has renewed its call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan and for the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers.
It also urged for guaranteed, unrestricted cross-border and cross-line access for aid delivery and for increased international funding to respond to Sudan’s worsening crisis.
In a statement, OCHA noted that El Fasher Maternity Hospital, the only main hospital still operating in the city, is overcrowded and facing a severe shortage of medical staff and equipment.
