The humanitarian situation in the cities of Dilling and Kadugli in South Kordofan State is rapidly deteriorating due to severe shortages of essential goods and skyrocketing prices of what little remains available.
Local leaders have decried what they describe as the absence of any official response and the authorities’ disregard for the growing tragedy in the city and the entire state, turning the daily lives of residents into an unbearable ordeal.
They called on the army to urgently open and secure the roads leading to the state, particularly the (El-Obeid/Dilling) road, to connect it with El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan, in order to save lives from the brink of death by starvation. Meanwhile, militias continue to attack, loot, and terrorize villages in the area.
