The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan (OCHA) has revealed an urgent need for approximately USD 120 million to implement an expanded response plan aimed at increasing assistance over the next three months, focusing on food, health, water, shelter, and protection needs.
OCHA warned of the rapidly deteriorating health situation in North Darfur, with rising cases of cholera, measles, and malaria in Tawila, El Fasher, and Kabkabiya.
The office also noted that markets in South Darfur State are witnessing sharp price hikes after floods and seasonal rivers cut off supply routes from Chad and the Northern State.
