Appeals to Save the People of South Kordofan from Hunger and Disease

Reports – Mashawir

A group of citizens attacked food warehouses and several shops in Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State.

Some local leaders attributed the incident to the worsening hunger, scarcity of goods, and the dire humanitarian situation in the city. Security authorities in the state described the events as acts of sabotage aimed at looting and theft.

Leaders complained about the escalating food crisis in the cities of Dilling and Kadugli, caused by the blockade, road closures, and the inability of residents to engage in their agricultural activities.

Local leaders urgently called for the opening of the Dilling–Kadugli road and for international, regional, and national organizations to take action to save the people of South Kordofan from hunger and disease.
