The United Nations has expanded its response plans to address the immense needs of more than 380,000 displaced people in Tawila locality, North Darfur State, including 327,000 individuals who fled the famine-stricken Zamzam IDP camp and surrounding areas.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric reiterated at a press briefing the call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan and the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers.
Dujarric also urged increased international support to address the growing humanitarian needs across the country.
