Emergency committees in Dar Hamar have accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of killing at least 30 people in the city of An-Nuhud and in the Umm Al-Badri market area.
A statement from the committee indicated that the militia executed 27 detainees held at Abu Khreytish farms and near the ice factory in central An-Nuhud, after their families were unable to pay the ransom demanded for their release.
In a separate incident, the RSF allegedly shot and killed three civilians at the Umm Al-Badri market, located about 35 kilometers east of the city, after they refused to stop at one of the RSF checkpoints.
The regions of West and North Kordofan have been witnessing escalating tensions and repeated RSF attacks on villages and rural areas, particularly following the RSF’s loss of control over the capital Khartoum and the states of Al-Jazirah, Sennar, and White Nile, leading to the regrouping of its forces in the Kordofan and Darfur regions in western Sudan.
