The Khartoum State Security Affairs Coordination Committee has called on all citizens to exercise caution when encountering war remnants scattered across various areas and stressed the need to immediately report any suspicious objects or materials suspected of being explosives. Reports should be made directly to the National Mine Action Center via the toll-free hotline (60666).
This appeal comes in light of the direct threat these remnants pose to the lives and property of residents, especially as they remain present in streets and neighborhoods that engineering teams have yet to reach.
The Khartoum State Government emphasized that ensuring security and protecting citizens’ lives is a top priority at this stage.
It noted that engineering teams have been working to remove the effects of war across the capital since its liberation, in preparation for creating the conditions necessary for residents to return to their areas and resume daily life without security risks.
Authorities stressed the importance of community cooperation in supporting these efforts by reporting any suspicious materials or locations that may contain war remnants, thereby contributing to accelerating clearance operations and ensuring everyone’s safety.
