Insecurity Forces Thousands of Families to Flee North Kordofan

The escalation of insecurity in North Kordofan State has displaced 80 families from the village of Markaz Al-Ziyadiya in West Bara locality, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a United Nations agency.

The organization stated that these families have fled to various locations in the West Bara and Sheikan localities of North Kordofan State.

In its statement, the organization noted that the situation in this area remains tense and rapidly changing.

The IOM had previously reported that between July 11 and 12, 675 families were forced to leave the villages of Al-Kurdi and Shaq Al-Noum in North Kordofan due to insecurity. Most of them relocated to various areas in the Umm Dam Haj Ahmed and West Bara localities, amid ongoing tension and instability in the region.
