Afro-European Organization Calls for Transparent Public Consultations on the Situation in Sudan

Mashawir – Reports

The Afro-European Organization for Humanitarian Action and Development affirmed that the Sudanese crisis has surpassed both local and regional dimensions, evolving into a humanitarian and moral issue of global significance. It stressed that the crisis represents a serious test of the international community’s commitment—particularly that of the United States—to the values of justice, freedom, and human rights.

The organization called on the United States to lead an international initiative to secure a binding UN Security Council resolution under Chapter VII to immediately halt hostilities, establish an international monitoring framework, and ensure the protection of civilians from violations.

In an official statement addressed to Masad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Middle East Affairs, the organization demanded that all meetings and consultations regarding the situation in Sudan be conducted in a transparent and public manner, in order to prevent them from being exploited by warring parties for political or military gains.

The statement also urged the imposition of strict and direct sanctions on conflict leaders and their financiers, including asset freezes, travel bans, and the disruption of financing networks based on gold and natural resource trade, which the organization described as the primary source fueling the continuation of the war.
