The El-Fasher Resistance Committees issued an urgent appeal for immediate action to lift the military blockade that threatens the lives of residents and undermines the stability of the city.
In a statement, the committees stressed that “El-Fasher can no longer endure further silence or mere symbolic gestures,” emphasizing that relying solely on the resilience of the residents without meaningful intervention poses a serious threat to the future of the city and its people.
The statement described El-Fasher as “not just a symbol or a legend, but a real city exhausted by repeated attacks and a suffocating siege.”
It pointed out that the city has been subjected to more than 200 armed attacks since the outbreak of war in April 2023. According to the committees, these attacks have caused severe shortages of food and medicine, devastating blows to the social and moral fabric, and have turned daily life in the city into an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.
The committees stressed that El-Fasher has paid a heavy price that cannot be compensated with praise or songs of heroism, adding that resilience, when left unsupported, shifts from being an act of courage to a heavy burden.
