The General Coordination of Camps for Displaced Persons and Refugees in Darfur announced that 25 people died within 48 hours in the region.
According to spokesperson Adam Regal, 12 people died from cholera on Saturday, while 13 more died on Sunday.
Regal confirmed that the cumulative number of cases since the outbreak began has reached 11,733 infections, including 454 deaths.
He noted that the area most affected is Tawila, about 60 kilometers west of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, which has recorded 5,417 cases since the outbreak, including 78 deaths. Tawila also registered 58 new cases yesterday alone.
The spokesperson further stressed that the epidemic continues to spread to other areas in Darfur, including Jebel Marra, Zalingei in Central Darfur, Nyala, and displacement camps in South Darfur.
