Around 300,000 remaining civilians trapped in El Fasher for nearly 18 months are facing extremely dire humanitarian conditions, with no access to food supplies or basic services such as electricity, communications, and water.
Due to these conditions, hospitals have ceased operating amid severe shortages of medicines, caused by ongoing clashes and the suffocating siege imposed on the city and its outskirts by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The fighting and blockade have forced about 600,000 residents to flee the city toward Tawila locality and nearby villages in search of safety, food, and healthcare.
Thousands of others have escaped toward the borders with Chad, Libya, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan, along dangerous and rugged routes, in a desperate attempt to save themselves and their families.
