The ongoing clashes in Kordofan, particularly following the Rapid Support Forces’ incursion into several areas in the north and west of the region, have led to large-scale displacement. Some people have been stranded in villages, while others have reached the city of El-Obeid, where they are living under dire humanitarian conditions.
According to the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner in West Kordofan State, Muna Dafallah, the number of displaced families in safe areas of North Kordofan has reached 32,745 households, currently living in four shelters and within host communities.
Dafallah further explained that there are 42,000 additional families stranded across the state’s localities, while 41,275 more families have been displaced from their villages.
She stressed that all these families are in urgent need of humanitarian interventions in the areas of food, medicine, clothing, and shelter.
