Agencies – Mashawir

Medical sources in the Khartoum Emergency Room have warned of the rapid spread of dengue fever and malaria in 17 out of the country’s 18 states, amid severe shortages of medicines, soaring prices, and the declining capacity of the health system to respond.

The sources pointed to the serious consequences expected as a result of the dire deterioration of the health situation in the country due to the wide spread of malaria and dengue fever, unless there is a swift and effective intervention.

They stressed the urgent need to intensify spraying campaigns, distribute mosquito nets, and ensure the immediate provision of medical supplies.

Residents of the capital, Khartoum, complain of multiple crises, especially shortages of life-saving medicines and intravenous solutions.
