Mossad Boulos: Washington Pushes Strongly to Address the Humanitarian Crisis in Sudan

Reports – Mashawir

U.S. Advisor for African Affairs, Mossad Boulos, affirmed that his country continues its outreach and efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, after famine and malnutrition caused the deaths of tens of thousands of children, with conditions in El Fasher reaching catastrophic levels of food scarcity.

In press statements, Boulos explained that the U.S. administration places the lives of Sudanese children at the top of its priorities, stressing that President Donald Trump does not want to see more innocent lives lost.

He noted that international humanitarian efforts are now underway, with a meeting held with the International Committee of the Red Cross and a prior one with the World Food Programme, to be followed by further meetings with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and other bodies to strengthen coordination in this regard.

Boulos confirmed that the United States is still engaging with leaders of the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to secure the delivery of aid first to El Fasher, then to Kordofan and other affected areas, in parallel with advancing diplomatic efforts to achieve lasting stability in Sudan.
