The Ministry of Health revealed an outbreak of hepatitis in Al Jazirah State, where 102 cases were recorded in a single week, while dengue fever continues to spread in Khartoum.
According to a statement from the Ministry’s Emergency Operations Center, “the number of reported hepatitis cases reached 102 in Al Jazirah State within one week.”
It also disclosed that 3,126 cases of dengue fever were recorded between September 20 and 26, of which 78 percent were in Khartoum, with the rest in Al Jazirah and White Nile states.
The statement further indicated that 641 new cholera cases were recorded across 14 states, with 38 percent reported in South Kordofan.
The ministry stressed the importance of environmental health and food safety monitoring through its ongoing activities, which include distributing chlorine in several states and transporting 16,528 tons of waste—achieving a 76 percent clearance rate.
