Mass displacement from southern Khartoum due to floods

Mashawir – Reports

The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced cases of mass displacement in Khartoum State following floods that swept through the Shuqaylab and Taybah areas in Jebel Aulia locality.

According to field data collected by IOM teams, around 100 families were forced to leave their homes after they were submerged by floodwaters, marking one of the most severe displacement waves this season.

The IOM report stated that the floods inundated nearly 100 houses, partially damaged 40, and completely destroyed 10.

As a result, the displaced families sought refuge with host communities within the same area, putting additional strain on local resources and further complicating the humanitarian response.
