Powerful Explosions in El Fasher Leave Dozens Dead and Injured

Mashawir – Reports

At least 17 people were killed and more than 30 others injured following intense artillery shelling carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on wide areas of El Fasher, including residential neighborhoods, displacement shelters, markets, and the Saudi Hospital.

The capital of North Darfur experienced a bloody day, as residents awoke early Friday morning to the sound of powerful explosions caused by heavy artillery bombardment and gunfire — unlike anything the city had witnessed before.

The El Fasher Resistance Committees Coordination said that “the city has turned into an open morgue due to the continuous shelling with heavy artillery since dawn.”

In a statement posted on Facebook, the coordination group said, “The bombardment was intense, deliberate, and indiscriminate, targeting homes, markets, hospitals, and displacement centers without distinction.”

The statement added, “Shells rained down like heavy rain, sparing no one — not even a sleeping child or a mother praying for her children’s safety — as the stench of death now fills the streets.”
