UN Security Council and African Peace and Security Council Discuss Sudan Crisis

The UN Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council will hold their 19th Annual Joint Consultative Meeting tomorrow (Friday) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to discuss conflicts across the African continent, including the situation in Sudan.

Diplomatic sources expect the Sudan war to top the agenda of the upcoming joint consultations and deliberations.

The meeting will also discuss ways to support UN assistance for African Union-led peace operations.

According to the same sources, the crises in Sudan and South Sudan will dominate the discussions, alongside other conflict-related issues affecting the African continent.
