Attacks by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), led by Abdelaziz Al-Hilu and allied with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), have continued on villages and areas in the Abu Kershola and Al-Abbasiya Tagali localities.
Local sources revealed that during these attacks, the forces carried out a wide campaign of arrests among young men, transferring them to compulsory recruitment camps to fight within their ranks. Meanwhile, the remaining women and elderly were displaced from their homes following the raids, which involved looting property and agricultural harvests produced during this year’s rainy season.
The sources added that yesterday’s attacks targeted the villages of Karshoum, Kalang, Reiba, Darash, Gardoud Jama, and Abu Zayda, along with surrounding rural areas, causing mass displacement and the near evacuation of entire villages under the pressure of ongoing operations. The widespread looting of homes, storage facilities, and farmlands has significantly worsened the humanitarian situation.
