WFP: Millions of Sudanese Face Catastrophic Hunger

Mashawir – Reports

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has renewed its warning that millions of people in Sudan remain cut off and face catastrophic levels of hunger, as the war enters its third year.

The program noted that famine is worsening in several parts of the country, despite signs of improvement in areas where WFP has consistent access.

It added that progress in combating famine remains fragile, as millions are still isolated due to ongoing conflict and are facing life-threatening hunger.

The report further indicated that most areas across the five Darfur states and the three Kordofan states have fallen out of agricultural production due to the impact of the war.
