North Kordofan Government: Reports of Mass Displacement Are Malicious Rumors

The North Kordofan government has denied circulating claims about the displacement of civilians from the state capital, El-Obeid, following the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) announcement earlier this December of its control over the 22nd Infantry Division in the town of Babanusa in West Kordofan State.
Abdelmutalib Abdelmutaal, the spokesperson for the North Kordofan government, described these claims as malicious rumors spread by the RSF, stressing that the security situation in the city remains stable.
He explained that El-Obeid is filled with residents going about their daily lives normally, and that the state government continues to perform its duties and provide services to citizens efficiently. Hospitals are functioning, along with social, cultural, and sports activities, reflecting a general sense of reassurance among the population.
