Follow-ups – Mashawir
West Kordofan State, which is fully under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), is witnessing a noticeable deterioration in the security situation amid an increase in killings and abductions allegedly carried out by elements of the RSF.
Activists reported that RSF soldiers have recently been involved in abducting traders, traditional community leaders, and doctors, detaining them in unknown locations and extorting their families by demanding ransom payments in exchange for their release.
The activists accused the RSF of abducting at least ten traders from the city of Ghubaysh in West Kordofan and taking them to an unknown destination, an incident that has sparked widespread fear among local residents.
The Dar Hamar Emergency Room stated that it has documented a series of violations in recent days, accusing the RSF of committing abuses against civilians in Wad Banda locality, West Kordofan. These violations included kidnappings for ransom, financial extortion, looting of property, as well as interference in service institutions within the locality.
