United Nations Calls for Plan to Provide Sustainable Support for Displaced People in El Fasher 

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Denise Brown, visited displaced communities in Darfur, particularly the Al-Afada camp in El Fasher, North Darfur, to assess their needs and provide necessary support.

Brown emphasized the importance of developing a joint action plan between UN agencies operating in Sudan and the North Darfur state government to deliver sustainable, long-term solutions and enhance assistance across multiple sectors.

The State Humanitarian Commission revealed ongoing arrangements and preparations to establish a new camp to accommodate anticipated waves of new displacement.

There were calls to increase the number of organizations operating in the state and to raise the funding and grants available to them so they can implement both emergency and development projects.
