Officials stated that the “Safinat El-Kheir,” which arrived at the Northern Port Sudan harbor, carries humanitarian aid provided by Turkey and Qatar to the Sudanese people.
The ship was prepared by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority in cooperation with the Qatar Fund for Development, the Turkish Red Crescent, and 23 civil society organizations. It carries 2,600 tons of humanitarian aid, including food, clothing, shelter supplies, hygiene products, and medical materials.
A reception ceremony for the ship was held at the Northern Port Sudan harbor in eastern Sudan. The event was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Khartoum, Fatih Yıldız, the Chargé d’Affaires at the Qatari Embassy in Khartoum, Abdullah Al-Muhannadi, and the Sudanese Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Salwa Adam, alongside official delegations from Turkey and local officials.
Sudanese Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Salwa Adam Binniya explained that “the arrival of this humanitarian aid ship represents an extension of the Qatari-Turkish humanitarian support provided to the Sudanese people, containing nearly 3,000 tons of humanitarian aid.”
