Follow-ups - Mashaweer
Activists in Karnoi locality of North Darfur State reported that recent military developments in the region have led to several families being trapped within the combat zones. This is particularly critical in the areas between Abu Liha, Lakka, and Al-Taqi, extending to Jereira within the same state.
These activists pointed out that these areas have witnessed continuous clashes over the past few days, placing civilians within the fighting zones under a de facto siege, with safe movement or exit becoming extremely difficult.
They noted that the military battles later expanded toward the Jereira areas before subsiding in intensity, which eventually allowed civilians an opportunity for a gradual exit.
The activists confirmed that families have begun displacing toward the Kariari, Touloum, and Tine camps, among others, in search of safety amidst the deteriorating security situation.
