Sudan Doctors Network Calls on International Community to Intensify Pressure to Stop Targeting Civilians
Updates - Mashaweer
The Sudan Doctors Network announced that a “suicide drone” deliberately targeted the (Fath al-Rahman) neighborhood within the city. This assault struck residential areas and civilian facilities in clear defiance of all international calls to cease the targeting of civilians.
In an official statement, the network condemned the deliberate targeting of residential neighborhoods and civilians, holding the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, fully responsible for this crime. The network also denounced the ongoing violations against unarmed civilians and the use of suicide drones in populated areas, citing a blatant breach of international humanitarian law and the principles of civilian protection.
The network called upon the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities. They urged for:
Urgent pressure on the leadership of the RSF and the SPLM-N to stop targeting civilians.
The immediate lifting of the siege on the city of Dilling.
Ensuring the unhindered arrival of humanitarian aid.
Accountability for those responsible for these violations to ensure justice and prevent impunity.
