Inaccessible Aid Worsens Humanitarian Conditions for North Darfur Residents
Follow-ups - Mashaweer
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has expressed its deep concern over the situation of thousands of civilians cut off from aid in Sudan’s North Darfur State.
Local partners reported that at least 2,000 families are trapped in Wadi Gerdie and Umm Saad, located within the Kernoi and Ambarao districts.
OCHA confirmed that the ongoing fighting in the region is severely hindering the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
OCHA called on all parties to immediately protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, and to ensure rapid, safe, sustainable, and unimpeded humanitarian access to those in need.
