“Doctors Without Borders”: El Fasher is Empty and Destroyed

El Fasher - Mashaweer

The organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) stated that it conducted a brief visit to El Fasher, North Darfur, under the supervision of security officials, where it found the city destroyed and emptied of its inhabitants.

The organization said that its team “recorded a four-hour visit to El Fasher on January 15, under the constant supervision of security officials, where they witnessed areas that were destroyed and largely devoid of the residents who used to live there.”

It added: “Our fears are now growing that the majority of civilians who were still alive when the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of the city have been killed or displaced.”

The statement explained that the team visited two displacement shelters inhabited mostly by women, children, and the elderly, and observed approximately 20 male patients with old injuries in health facilities.
