United Nations: Situation Worsening in Dalanj; Access Routes Remain Cut Off
Dalanj - Mashaweer
The United Nations has stated that the situation in Dalanj, the second-largest city in South Kordofan State, remains extremely tense.
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that access routes remain blocked, and the prolonged isolation of the city has caused conditions to deteriorate to critical levels.
The UN office explained that humanitarian operations remain limited, with only a few non-governmental organizations operating under severe restrictions.
It further noted that humanitarian partners reported that half of Dalanj’s population fled last year, while those who remain face acute shortages of food, healthcare, and other basic necessities.
