The Libyan Relief and Humanitarian Aid Agency has carried out a four-day relief distribution operation for Sudanese refugees in the city of Misrata. Supported by the World Food Programme (WFP), the distribution began last Wednesday and aimed to provide essential supplies to those in need.
According to reports from several refugees, the aid reached more than 1,143 families. Each food basket included 20 kg of flour, 8 kg of chickpeas, 5 liters of oil, 10 kg of rice, 6 kg of beans, 4 kg of yellow lentils, and 8 cans of tomato paste, along with nutritional supplements specifically for children.
Many Sudanese refugees in Misrata expressed great relief and happiness at the resumption of these distributions. This marks the second consecutive month of aid following a hiatus that lasted more than six months.
According to a Facebook post by the agency, distribution operations throughout January extended to several other cities across Libya. The aid benefited 398 families in Ajdabiya, 128 families in Derna, 1,200 individuals in Tripoli, 18 families in Badr and Tiji, and 500 families in the Southern region.
