Hamdok: European Tour Aimed to Rally International Support to End the War

Berlin - Mashaweer

The former Sudanese Prime Minister and head of “Somoud” Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces, Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, stated that his recent European tour aimed to mobilize international support to end the war in Sudan and convey the suffering of displaced persons and refugees to European decision-making centers.

In an interview with Radio Dabanga, he noted that the “Quartet Initiative” aligns with the vision of the “Somoud” alliance, as it presents clear principles, a roadmap, and specific timelines, while mandating a full civilian transition.

Hamdok called for the unification of civilian ranks, acknowledging that “the absence of a unified vision has weakened the civilian presence. What is required now is broad coordination under a single umbrella.”

He added: “Sudan’s affairs cannot be settled in isolation from the Sudanese voice; any regional or international initiative that does not incorporate the vision of the Sudanese people is meaningless.”

He further clarified that “the role of the region and the international community should be limited to support and assistance.”
